The best part about it is that you can “flame” (chatroom!) books. I’ll never get to slap Paulo Coelho’s face until it turns mushy, but I can write that his books made me weak with fury. That profile of him the the NYer was most satisfying to me as a snob/person with a functioning understanding of reading.
